Unwanted Bonds - 7
After the first hour of trying not to move, Leonardo felt his spine starting to protest.
Not enough yet, to risk changing his position and possibly waking his exhausted brother, but enough to become a notable discomfort.
After the second hour, sitting still like a gargoyle on a roof, it started to become really uncomfortable and the oldest brother started to consider moving at least his legs enough to prevent them from falling asleep. But he still didn't give in.
Not when he snuck a glance at Raphael's sleeping face,
Even deeply asleep, he looked so very exhausted. Lips parted and eyes firmly shut, though with a small frown of tension forming a line between his brows. Almost, Leo gave in to the urge of smoothing that away with his thumb, but he thought better of it and remained unmoving for a little while longer.
A little movement in the corner of his eyes caught his attention and instantly, he had to smile. The baby was yawning in his sleep, kicking his small legs before settling back
Infected - Chapter Four Sky often found himself in awkward situations. He tended to have bad luck with those sorts of things. Once, he and Ian had gone to visit Husky's home village. Sky forgot that it was rude to call Mudkips "fish". Another time, Sky managed to get himself locked in a room with a squid he'd cut one tentacle off of for three hours; the two didn't have much to talk about. Then, back when he was dating Dawn, Sky couldn't have had a worse first impression on her parents; but that's another story.
All in all, even though Sky had seen a lot of awkward situations, he could safely say that this was the worst yet.
"Um.... So..." Sky bit his lower lip as he struggled for words. "How's... You magic?"
"Good, good..." Seto said with a nod. The two both hesitated in awkward silence, as Tyler - who sat between them on the couch, stared straight ahead blankly. His arm had been fixed by Seto as soon as the Sorcerer calmed down. Sips took the liberty of
Infected - Chapter Two "Where are they?" Duncan muttered to himself like he usually does. "I know I dropped them somewhere around here..."
He kept his head down, scanning the forest floor not far from his castle as he searched for his beloved goggles. He hadn't been searching long before he heard leaves rattle above him. He had no time to move as he felt something heavy land on top of him. "Hey, watch-" He stopped short as he felt a blade under his neck. His eyes widened. "Wh-Who are you?"
"My name is Sky. I'm a Revolter, and I'm not about to go down to some scientist."
"Oi! I'm not just 'some scientist' buddy, I'm Lalna!" Duncan growled.
"A real scientist wouldn't get himself caught in a situation like this. I know you're infected. Anyways, is 'Lalna' supposed to scare me?"
"No, not at all." Duncan replied, letting his hand slip into his coat pocket. "But... If I were you... I would drop your sword."
My Alien Girlfriend (Chapter 6)
The sky had turned dark outside and I was in the kitchen, cleaning up the counter from where Yumi had lost control with the ketchup bottle.
Supper had been nothing short of insanity. As agreed, I had grilled burgers for the two of us so that she could experience what a burger tasted like. When I lit the grill, she touched it to try and see where the fire came from and burned her hand. When we finally got the burgers done, I asked if she wanted cheese or anything on it, and she merely asked me what cheese and ketchup were. She’d never seen pickles before and the only thing she seemed to recognize were the lettuce and tomatoes…but that was only because she mistook them for leaves and fruit from her own planet. In the end, she loved them. She asked for more, so I ended up making her a second burger…and that was when she asked if she could try preparing it herself. And that was how I ended up here cleaning up the ketchup from the counter and walls.
I sighed to myself and
SWtCW: A Question of Loyalty pt.5Surface of Naboo, Theed, Royal Palace
Queen Jamillia jumped as the door to her study slammed open, looking up from her desk in alarm as three figures burst into the room.
“What is going on?” she demanded, coming to her feet. “Who are you what do you—“ she stopped as she recognized Padme. “—want.” she stiffened as she realized that Senator Binks was also in attendance. “How dare you?” she asked coolly.
“Queen Jamillia,” Padme began, her voice emotionless. “You are guilty of conspiring against Naboo and the Republic, you will be removed from the throne and your vestments stripped from you.”
Jamillia's eyes flared slightly as she looked back from the gungan to Padme.
“You have no authority to make such outrageous claims and accusations Senator! You serve by my appointment!”
“I have the same right of every citizen of Naboo.” Padme replied. “As to authority, we will have that sh
Unbroken Bond 2 Unbroken Family Chapter Seven"Hey, Mom, can I ask you something?" Kiki asked, threading her arm inside the sleeve of her cardigan.
Callie, folding up the hospital gown her daughter formerly resided in, turned around with a chipper smile as if nothing could make the emotion she was feeling disappear. "Anything you want, sweetheart. Fire away."
"Are you sure? Because I've been trying to ask you but it's always seemed like a touchy subject. I just don't want you to get upset or anything, you know?" Kiki felt her cheeks flare a little in embarrassment of her hesitation, but she also didn't want to cause her mother more distress than she already had.
But Callie merely broadened her grin and said, "I'll be fine. What is it?"
Clearing her throat, Kiki started, "Okay, well, um . . . uh, since the doctors said that I currently can't remember literally anything before yesterday, may I ask what exactly happened the day of my accident?"
Kiki immediately took notice of her mother's smile turning upside down. So it was a touchy
The Girl Who Chases The Wind: Chapter 3 (Part 1)The Girl Who Chases the Wind
Chapter 3: The Past
Even on standard drive, my car easily outraced the storm. I stared at the vestigial foot pedals and shriveled wheel. A leftover promise of control. I couldn’t actually drive. My car had a license, not me, and the insurance prices for human drivers made it a luxury for the super-rich.
I leaned back in the chair. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go back to the ranch. I had my notes to one side with the rough, new questions of the day scribbled below. Mari was naturally underlined with all the stuff from Edgar and Ada accented with question marks. I tapped my notes about Kala as my eyes flicked between them and questions I had about Feldon.
Pressing my head against the window did nothing to resolve my bitter confusion. Soon I’d be back on the ranch. I’d have to face Feldon.
In my head, I went back and forth between imagining how I might confront him between playing it cool and not mentioning what I knew. I rub
Battalia: HuntsmanGrannde Enterprises was an old building, one that had been out of production since the war. It was home to Battalia that had protected Westkeep and the nearby area, closer to town than the Derelict Industries base was to Mechanicsville. Even so, it was heavily guarded, and yet...Something had broken through, and more shockingly, destroyed the Battalia units within.
Outside the base, a young man named Chase Sabre stood there. He was a traveller, chasing the very monstrosity that had caused this damage. Along the way he had seen more than his fair share of destroyed robots and wreckage, but what was scariest of all was the fact that someone he loved was arguably the cause of it all.
Still, his hunt was only half the reason he was there, the other half was the wrecked Battalia he had encountered on the dusty trail, Maria.
Chase recognized her as an awakened Battalia, ones that had adapted beyond the already powerful stock versions called “Blank slates”. They had observed human
Oh No Sally 22 : by Dru(For Michelangeli)
Within an hour of O Girl's announcement going nationwide, the Director issued a statement. He ordered all agents to remain on duty and to carry on as normal. He denied outright O Girl's claims of a conspiracy and insisted that the FBI was the finest law enforcement agency in the United States. Any attack on the institution he headed was an attack on freedom and justice. In closing he requested that O Girl hand herself in to authorities because it was time she answered for all the deaths she had caused.
Sally was very displeased at being called a criminal, and accused by the very man she wanted to bring to justice of being an enemy of the law. But these were things she had expected to him to say, so it didn't upset her all that much.
Over the next day she watched closely as the smarter FBI agents ignored their orders and handed themselves in anyway. They all knew what Sally was capable of. And they knew what the bureau was capable of. And so they knew there was only o
